I am. Like the rest of the nerds because of this.

Drew and I set out early Friday morning to join our fellow geeks and nerds in Anaheim for Blizzcon. We arrived around 8am, picked up our passes at registration then had breakfast. Drew and I didn’t know what to expect so we played it by ear. We got back from breakfast to be surprised that the line was long. REALLY long. It wrapped around the block into a parking lot back around the block. INSANE.

We finally got in around 11am and there was a line for everything. Drew and I just bit it and stood in line for Starcraft 2. It was good. I played against Drew but we only had fifteen minutes to play before they booted us. So it was a tie at the end. Thankfully most of the show attendees went to opening session which allowed us to go play Diablo 3. HOLY S#!T! I cannot wait for it to come out.

Drew and I had some lunch after, rested and watched the 3v3 arena tournament. It was pretty funny because the Taiwanese team was named “Made In Taiwan.” The entire tournament was pretty cool except for the announcers being right next to the teams and announcing what was going on giving one team an advantage over the other.

We stood in line for the Jinx booth to buy swag. I bought a murloc and two shirts. Drew got a shirt, so he didn’t go wild like me. After, we went back to the car to rest since we were standing in line for a long time. We came back for the costume contest which was pretty fun to watch. We got Rick Rolled! Some dude dressed up as Rick Astley and they played his song then it was announced, “You guys just got Rick Rolled.” EFFF YOU BLIZZ! EFFFF YOU! The chick who won it all created a Turtle Mount that moved and she controlled, which was pimp. I still wanted the warlock in full tier 6 to win. His costume was pretty gnarly.

Anyhoo, I had a good time nerding it up. I came away with a pretty cool goodie bag and of course the Polar Bear Murloc mount!

Yes, that is right. There are a lot of exciting things going on in this small world of mine. One which is taking place this weekend. For those who don’t know yet I play WoW and this year will be the first time I ever attend Blizzcon.

I cannot wait to see the world of Blizzard. I will be watching the arena tournament, watching panels, playing Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 betas! w000t. To top it off I get some cool new toys from the goodie bag they are giving away. It’s like Christmas but for like nerds….or something.

Remember when Death and Taxes disbanded? Well, they rerolled Horde went on a killing spree and finished Sunwell. CRAZY! Grats guys! Pretty damn amazing.

Earlier I had a conversation with a WoW friend. His name will not be disclosed because…I don’t know. So anyhoo here it goes.

Wow Friend: HEY HUGGIE BEAR!!!!
Me: Yo duder
WF: So we rolling deep in WotLK right?
Me: I am hardly playing right now. I saw Illidan die and I was happy with that. You haven’t been playing either…WTF scrub?
WF: Took the summer off but I’m coming back and starting the guild for WotLK. I want to compete for world firsts. So when xpac hits you have a week to level to 80. You might want to take the week off from work so you can hit 80.
Me: /blink…what? World firsts? I quit the game…somewhat.
WF: WTF Hugs?!?!?! We need you!
Me: No. I like having a real life. Stop tempting me.
WF: You know you want to. You owe me. Who tanked Heroic BF with uber lag?
Me: No…/sigh
WF: We can name the guild after pirates.
Me: Fuck you for knowing my weakness.
WF: Are you in?
Me: …
Me: I hate your face.
WF: Whatever healing class officer.
Me: o_O

I am going to need therapy.

We all know about the fiasco of buying tickets for Blizzcon. Today, Blizzard has redeemed themselves. Good luck everyone on the lotto!

On Monday Blizzcon tickets went on sale and man it wasn’t pretty. Some people got tickets and a whole lot of people didn’t do to server issues. It was like that all the way up until they sold out yesterday at 8pm PST.

Everyone is frustrated because of the crappy way Blizzard handled the ticket distribution. It was based on luck. Fortunately for me, Carrie got lucky and got in and was able to buy my ticket. Seriously, I was very lucky. This was after two day of hitting F5 like a crazy person at work and at home for the past two days.

Even until now people are still nerd raging it on the forums. I am hoping Drew got his ticket because Suk couldn’t get his so I won’t be a loner.
