Huh? Wut?

Check out this holiday’s PSA’s from CBS. I don’t know about you but this is weird:

Hero

Being Filipino it is sometimes difficult for me to see my homeland in such turmoil. Whether it is hearing about the idiotic president we have, how the only hope for the poor in our country relies on a television or the natural disaster that recently happened; I am glad to hear some great news happening. I am not even talking about Manny Pacquiao either. Even though Manny is amazing outside of the ring with his efforts in the Philippines.

I am talking about Efren PeƱaflorida. Who is he you ask? He is the founder of the Dynamic Teen Company, an organization that reaches out to children who live in the slums of the province of Cavite that have no access to education. His organization does it all with a simple push cart full of education materials. Such an amazing individual. Not only is he my hero but he was named CNN’s Hero of 2009. Congratulations Efren!

You are the change that you dream and I am the change that I dream. And collectively we are the change that this world needs to be.
-Efren PeƱaflorida

A Salute!

To all the men and women who have served our country. Thank you for everything! Special thanks to my Grandpa, who is the reason why my family is here. I love you Grandpa!

Whose Your Hero?

Is She Serious?

I was taken back reading this article. My favorite quote is below:

“They favor more toward students that got a 4.0. They help them more out with the job placement”

I guess they aren’t going to ask her to donate to the alumni fund.

The Human Spirit

Colby Curtin is amazing. You have to read the article. I have no other words to say but woah. RIP Colby.

NBA Playoffs

With the Finals upon us we have the Lakers and Magic. Two teams who fought hard to get there. Both teams deserve to be there. So far though I have some gripes about the playoffs.

Officiating: What the hell is a foul? What isn’t? Why is it so inconsistent? Barkely was right, the officiating has been terrible in both conferences and in every series. I hope the NBA reviews, revamps and yells at their officials. This was by far the shittiest job ever by NBA refs.

Cavs: You guys were disappointing with the exception of Lebron. It was obvious you guys weren’t hungry enough for the title. The better team did win the series. Mike Brown was quoted with “I don’t think it was just LeBron that was tired, I think it was everybody out on that floor. And LeBron logged 45 minutes for us.” Your team tired? You jokers were on a one week break before the Eastern Conference Finals. The only person that should be tired is Lebron from carrying everyone. Come on guys that was a pathetic effort.

That’s basically it. It should be a great finals. Good luck to both teams but GO LAKERS!!!!!

South Carolina AG vs Craigslist

If you don’t already know, the South Carolina Attorney General is on a head hunt for Craigslist executives. I seriously think the AG is off of his rocker. I hope CL stands tall on this issue as they have complied with everything this douche bag has demanded. Good for them for demanding an apology.

Mac Vs PC

For however long it’s been there has been an ongoing debate which is better, Mac or PC? I have used both and I think both do the job. I really don’t have a preference between both. I just hate the marketing on both sides but more so on the Apple side. Why? Because they make it sound like the average consumer does so much with their computer and they have created this zerg culture.

Let’s be honest. I truly believe the average computer user uses their machine for the following: browse social network or Internet, check email, listen to music, word process, blog (optional), chat and tweet. Do you really need a Core 2 Duo, Quadro and an uber l333tz0r video card for that? No. I don’t think so.

My solution is to create a computer that is cheaper than both and only perform said functions. Who is with me?
