The Wild Weekend & SF

So last Friday was Eric’s going away party. Man we partied hard! We hit up three bars and I blew a .4 on the Breathalyzer. Don’t worry, Adam took my keys away. I honestly don’t know how I am still alive. Went to bed around 3am woke up at 8:30am to pick up my car. I got back to my place from Manhattan Beach and I couldn’t take a nap before the trek up to SF. I showered, packed then hopped in my car headed over to Adam’s and I was stuck in traffic. YAY!

We got to Santa Cruz around 6:30 and ate at Jacks. Oh my god I love that place. Then we bolted over to SF to have some drinks with CodJelly before the Bonobo’s DJ set at Mighty. Met Joyce, Trevor and friends at Mighty. I got to meet Bonobo, which was really cool because he’s a chill guy that makes amazing music. After the show we were invited to an after party. We hung out there for a bit until I threw in the towel at 4:30am. I turned to Adam and said, “I don’t care what you do. I am going back to Ellie and Cody’s and passing out.” So we left.

Sunday morning was full of fail but win at the same time. Foreign Cinema hates large parties for brunch so they made everything in their power to stop the eleven of us craving their delicious bacon and they were successful. We hopped on over to a breakfast place. It wasn’t a total loss though we went to Anthony’s Cookies NOM NOM NOM. I also got to spend some time with Andy and Moo. YAY! Adam and I left the city and visited my grandfather’s grave for a bit before heading back to Santa Cruz. We met Joyce and Trevor up for some Zoccoli’s. Chicken Pesto…*DROOOL* After hanging out for a bit we took the long way home and I got home at 1am. Needless to say I am still tired and broken for the weekend.

It was all worth it. Check out some video footage below from walking around Sunday morning in the mission.

Going Viral

Working on a video project with my best friend. Here’s a sneak peak even though it’s not much. Hopefully the intarwebs will love it.

Whose Your Hero?

Five Years

Five years ago I asked Carrie, “what the hell are we doing?” It’s been great answering that question and we’re still not done answering that question. Happy Anniversary! I love you.

Maui…WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Carrie and I went to Maui a couple of weeks ago. What a relaxing time. We are now both spoiled and cannot stay anywhere else but the Four Seasons. We also loved zip lining through the forest and Caneoing. Averaging twelve hours of sleep was also great! Cannot wait to go back!

Los Angeles DECOM

Joyce, Trevor and I went to DECOM yesterday. It was what we all needed. Since I’ve been feeling like MOOP lately it was good to be apart of the community once again. Even if it was for a short time. We pretty much walked the entire place. Met some new friends and some old friends.

We mainly worked the Hug Deli though. We love that place. It’s our rock.

Now I am hoping to ease back into the default world.

Feeling Like MOOP

Ever since I’ve gotten back from Hawaii I have been feeling like MOOP. Feeling out of place really does suck. I think this has been the toughest work week I have ever experienced. My mind was in a thousand places and trying to focus was such a task for me. I think my soul is missing the sense of community of the Playa.

So instead of moping around I am going to be proactive about getting out of my funk. I am going to incorporate things from the Playa into my daily life. First thing I am going to do is strive to become more of a minimalist. I know it’s going to be difficult but it is something I need and want to do. Another thing I am going to do is be more patient. Yes everyone knows me as an aggro koala, it’s time to set it aside and be more calm bringing me to my next attribute, kindness. I always think of myself as a courteous person but I want to be more kind to people in general. I think Los Angeles can use more kind people, don’t you? The last and more important thing is I need to express myself more artistically. The only way I can do that is through my photography. I’ve been slowly trying to find some inspiration to shoot again and slowly some inspiration is coming along thanks to John and Soy. You guys are seriously amazing photographers and people.

So there you have it folks. That’s what this koala is striving for! Wish me luck.

PS: If my grammar is terribad or if I don’t make sense it’s because it is 3am and my mind has wandered.

Thank You! Thank You!

I’d like to thank everyone who made my birthday special this year. I thought it was going to be small and quaint but it ended up being a three week ordeal! I am even celebrating it this Saturday with some old friends. Let the festivities continue. Oh, I can’t wait for LA Decompression too!
