101 and SF
Saturday morning Adam and I embarked on our 101 photo tour, which we drove from LA to SF along the 101 stopping in Lake Cachuma, Solvang, Santa Cruz and San Francisco. We stopped at Lake Cachuma (which is near Santa Barbara) to see if we could shoot some wild life but it was crowded and nothing cool to shoot because it was pretty dirty. We then left and got back on the road. I saw a sign for Solvang and decided to head on over there. So we stopped in Solvang for lunch; had a beer and Monte Cristos, which were interesting.
I firmly believe after Monte Cristos are a drug, a very bad drug that made Adam have a bad trip. So much where he thought the restaurant we were in was evil. When paid our bill he wanted to pay in cash so we could leave right away. I only had $10 so Adam said he would cover the rest. He claimed I was taking too long to find my money so he yelled at me and paid for the bill. What a sweet guy. We then whisked out of the restaurant and out of the city.
We then headed to Santa Cruz which is an interesting city. We walked around the main street and looked at the small shops. There are a lot of bums and hippies in Santa Cruz. Man the streets were filled with BO. Anyhoo, after the walking around we had a burger at Jacks which were really good. The only thing missing was a fried egg. :)
Adam showed me around UCSC which is a pretty cool campus. We drove around then drove along the coast and shot some pictures at the beach. I still need to do some post prod but I posted my favorite shot. After the beach we called it a day and headed to SF.
We got to SF where we stayed with Cody and Ellie. We headed off to Buena Vistas for Irish coffee then their neighborhood bar and we ended up at the CodJelly Bar. We got really hammered and stayed up and talked until like 4am. Well I stayed up until 4am, Adam and Cody stayed up much longer. Adam kept on throwing the stupid medicine ball at me over and over. Ahole.
I woke up early in the morning still drunk but needing to use the bathroom. Adam and I slept next to the bar which was pretty interesting since I’ve never slept next to a bar before. Anyhoo, I had to step over Adam but tripped a bit and almost sat on his face but luckily I have amazing balance but it would have been funny sit on his face. I fussed with the hallway door and I looked defeated thinking I couldn’t get to the bathroom til Adam said “Dude, there’s a bathroom the other way.” Anyhoo, we got up way later that afternoon had some burritos and headed home. It was a great trip overall. Thank to Ellie and Cody for housing us. Thanks to Solvang for the funny story. Much props to Adam for helping me out with my project and coming with me on this trip.
Can’t wait to do it again!
