Winter Break

Tiring. Basically the only word I can think of right now to summarize my winter break from work. Now I wouldn’t say it wasn’t fun. The first half of it was awesome because we had so many visitors. Jenn came home from London and it’s always good to see her. Angela came home too which made the vacation more fun. Andy came down and spent Christmas with us. We played a lot of Munchkin. Yes we are nerds.

Carrie and I also threw our Deep Fryer Party which was awesome. It gave us some time to see some friends we hardly ever get to see. The night after that was our holiday dinner with my best friends and their wives. I bought a Turducken for the occasion. Let me tell you, it’s too much but I recommend at least trying it out.

The latter half of my vacation was devoted to recovering from being sick. It sucked ass. Being bed ridden for the last week of vacation really pissed me off. Dah well.

Today was the first day back at work. Trying to get back into the swing of things. I am halfway done with a project. So not a lot of cob webs on my end. It’s definitely back to the grind!

Whoda In ‘08

2008 was such an interesting year. If I were to rename sum it all up I would say it was a rebuilding year for me. Rebounding personal and professional mistakes but hey, whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger right?

Earlier in 2008 I figured I wasn’t happy with my job. Instead of complaining and being annoying I did something about it. I gave it another shot, tried to do different things with my position at Velocity. No dice. It was simply time for me to move on. Professionally, I simply just stopped growing and I knew I didn’t want to be stuck programming a CRM system I highly disliked. In February I began the search and I went to interview after interview. Finally, I found the perfect fit at AdEngage. After a few months of working there we were bought out by Technorati. Ever since then it has been exciting. Very exciting. In 2009, even with the economy being the way that it is, should be an excitiing year for us. We are determined. Very determined.

In my personal life I think I have grown. I learned a lot from my previous mistakes. I even made a few new friends along the way whom have been great and been grateful for the fun times we’ve spent together. Carrie and I also made a big decision. No, we didn’t get engaged but we moved into a bigger place. It has been fun furnishing the new place and getting settled in. I also now have a full bar. We just need to build an actual bar. This should be fun.

I only took three trips this year to Las Vegas, Chicago and San Francisco. I had fun on each trip. Next year I plan to take more international trips.

All in all 2008 was semi-eventful. Here is to 08 and lets ring in 2009. Happy New Years All!

Hard Times on a Drunkard

It is no secret that I enjoy going out to the pubs, bars and clubs and having a drink or two or million. It is rough economy out there and I wanted to help out my fellow drunkards who live in Los Angeles. So I challenged Adam and Justin to get me drunk for forty dollars.

We set out last Friday night to a bar called Liquid Kitty in Santa Monica. Adam and Justin didn’t play fair because the first shot was Bacardi 151… that’s just wrong! I was pretty much wrecked but not drunk from there. I got to chase it with a Long Island Iced Tea. So you can say I was done. So yes, you can drink for under $40.

You can pretty much go to any dive bar in LA and do your thang. I really recommend Liquid Kitty because they have some great deals. You can have PBR with pretty much any shot for around $5. Yes PBR isn’t the best but it will efff you up!

Thanks to Adam and Justin for doing this challenge. More kudos to Adam for being the DD. Don’t forget to be smart guys and drink safe, so have a DD! Have a good holiday!

Changes But Not Really…

First of all, Happy Birthday to my sister! I hope you have a good one.

I have changed the sub header of my blog to “A WoW Addict in Denial.” I have scratched the itch again and I am on my way to level 80 and hoping to go into Naxxaramas soon. I am however trying out new things not just sitting in front of my computer. Next week I am going to try soccer with my coworkers, hopefully I don’t make an ass out of myself.

Besides changing my sub header you will notice the ads I am serving on the right hand bar.  We have launched the beta of Technorati Media - Engage ad platform. I encourage my fellow bloggers to check it out and sign up as a publisher if you are interested. It’s our baby here at work. It is our blood, sweat and tears…seriously. I had to put off leveling to help launch this bad boy. That’s how much I’ve put into it.

Oh yah, I forgot to mention I changed my about page too!

Alright. Manny out!

I hope this isn’t true. It would be a sad day for hip hop.

To My Fellow Men

Please promise me one thing. That you will not wear LOW RISE JEANS. They are a travesty. The last time I was this pissed about fashion was when they introduced capris pants for men. UGH! Below are some of the reasons why men shouldn’t wear these types of jeans.

1.) No one wants to see your ass crack. Unless you unclogging my toilet or garbage disposal keep that hidden. Really.

2.) It looks gay. Yes, gay. I have nothing against gay people. One of my closest friends is gay. He’d probably agree with me on this.

3.) Women just look better in them. Well, most women do. I would rather see their sexy body and nice arse in low rise jeans than some emo fat kid.

It really is appalling and I blame whomever said it was a good thing to make low rise jeans for men. I am declaring war on you…WAR!!!11one!!

Hello Again

We have released a new product and that is why my blog has been dormant. For the past three weeks I have been working 60-70 hour weeks. Cry more right? I am just glad things have settled down a bit that I took it easy this past weekend.

Friday night Adam cooked us his famous spaghetti and meatballs. Had great conversation along with some great wine. Ended the night playing some Rockband 2. We are actually going to try to beat the game in a timely manner not like the first one.

Saturday, Carrie and I ran errands and picked up some things for the apartment. Had dinner at a Chinese restaurant then watched Role Models. It was filled with a lot of one lines by Sean William Scott. It wasn’t the best movie but it was hilarious and entertaining.

Yesterday Carrie and I went to our first MLS game which happened to be the MLS Cup. We went with Adam and Justin, the tickets were courtesy of John. Thanks John! We were cheering for the New York Red Bulls but unfortunately they lost to Columbus. It was interesting and it made me want to play soccer with the guys after work. MAYBE.

The holiday is coming up. Looking forward to family, eating and friends! I have more time to rant now so keep an eye out for some fresh posts…or something. Whoda OUT!
