Welcome 2010 and Bai 2009

It has been a busy past two weeks with people come into town, parties and trying to find the perfect gifts for everyone. I can say I had a great time during the holiday. I am happy that I got to see Jenn and Angela when they came home. Of course having Andy stay with us was a bonus treat. We drank, we were merry, we played X-Box and Munchkin. Holiday festivities this year was not boring at all. It was just as action packed as any other year.

The other day I thought about what I did in the year 2009. I wasn’t really impressed with myself. In fact I was truly upset with myself because I sat on my laurels and did nothing adventurous or artistic until the end of 2009. So I am going to push myself this year to keep the gears going in 2010. I am looking forward to a whole lot of things and I am fortunate to be surrounded by people who love and motivate me. So I am going to start my new year hitting the ground running and if I ever catch myself sitting on my bum I will have to think of this quote:

Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about getting out there and dancing in the rain. – Anon

Cheers!

Huh? Wut?

Check out this holiday’s PSA’s from CBS. I don’t know about you but this is weird:

Decembeard

Not really much going on. Work is killing me. It is. Been eating like crap lately. Boo. Decembeard is the only thing I got. Cheers.

Hero

Being Filipino it is sometimes difficult for me to see my homeland in such turmoil. Whether it is hearing about the idiotic president we have, how the only hope for the poor in our country relies on a television or the natural disaster that recently happened; I am glad to hear some great news happening. I am not even talking about Manny Pacquiao either. Even though Manny is amazing outside of the ring with his efforts in the Philippines.

I am talking about Efren PeƱaflorida. Who is he you ask? He is the founder of the Dynamic Teen Company, an organization that reaches out to children who live in the slums of the province of Cavite that have no access to education. His organization does it all with a simple push cart full of education materials. Such an amazing individual. Not only is he my hero but he was named CNN’s Hero of 2009. Congratulations Efren!

You are the change that you dream and I am the change that I dream. And collectively we are the change that this world needs to be.
-Efren PeƱaflorida

Uncontrollable

Today Carrie and I went to Surfas to buy some things for the kitchen. I thought I was going to pick up one thing but we ended up picking up multiple items. I swear that place is like a candy store for me!

A Salute!

To all the men and women who have served our country. Thank you for everything! Special thanks to my Grandpa, who is the reason why my family is here. I love you Grandpa!

Getting My Groove Back

Getting back into photography. Here’s a shot from my Downtown LA shoot I did with Stuart. Going to start my photo project real soon. I hope you guys like it.

The Wild Weekend & SF

So last Friday was Eric’s going away party. Man we partied hard! We hit up three bars and I blew a .4 on the Breathalyzer. Don’t worry, Adam took my keys away. I honestly don’t know how I am still alive. Went to bed around 3am woke up at 8:30am to pick up my car. I got back to my place from Manhattan Beach and I couldn’t take a nap before the trek up to SF. I showered, packed then hopped in my car headed over to Adam’s and I was stuck in traffic. YAY!

We got to Santa Cruz around 6:30 and ate at Jacks. Oh my god I love that place. Then we bolted over to SF to have some drinks with CodJelly before the Bonobo’s DJ set at Mighty. Met Joyce, Trevor and friends at Mighty. I got to meet Bonobo, which was really cool because he’s a chill guy that makes amazing music. After the show we were invited to an after party. We hung out there for a bit until I threw in the towel at 4:30am. I turned to Adam and said, “I don’t care what you do. I am going back to Ellie and Cody’s and passing out.” So we left.

Sunday morning was full of fail but win at the same time. Foreign Cinema hates large parties for brunch so they made everything in their power to stop the eleven of us craving their delicious bacon and they were successful. We hopped on over to a breakfast place. It wasn’t a total loss though we went to Anthony’s Cookies NOM NOM NOM. I also got to spend some time with Andy and Moo. YAY! Adam and I left the city and visited my grandfather’s grave for a bit before heading back to Santa Cruz. We met Joyce and Trevor up for some Zoccoli’s. Chicken Pesto…*DROOOL* After hanging out for a bit we took the long way home and I got home at 1am. Needless to say I am still tired and broken for the weekend.

It was all worth it. Check out some video footage below from walking around Sunday morning in the mission.

Going Viral

Working on a video project with my best friend. Here’s a sneak peak even though it’s not much. Hopefully the intarwebs will love it.
